I’m sure with vaccines rolling out and Summer Friday’s rolling around that people are planning some weekend getaways soon. If it’s just a few hours drive, we all need to get away and start to travel (safely, of course). But as always packing is a struggle.
I was so excited at the prospect of traveling for our trip to Utah + AZ that I began to grossly overpack. Then I reeled it in and began to narrow it down to what I actually needed and thought that I would use. And Summer weekend bags can be super fun + versatile, while remaining light.
STAPLE No. 1
A great pair of jean shorts that you could wear with a cute top + straw hat out to lunch, or with a sweatshirt in the evening by a bonfire, and as a swimsuit cover-up on the water.
STAPLE No. 2
A shirt dress is a great way to pack a cover-up as well as a dress you could wear out. A super versatile piece that is timeless and classy to be worn in several different ways.
STAPLE No. 3
I love the braided sandals that are super popular and trendy right now, and think that both heeled and flat versions of them are great for Summer! The heels are still casual but can be paired with a cute dress as well. If you’re looking for some flats to compliment your more casual looks, these are some great ones and come in tons of different colors.
STAPLE No. 4

A fun summer top is crucial for any fun weekend, but which one to pack!?! I love the puffed sleeves for a bohemian festival vibe, and the off the shoulder is fun and flirty too. Tops like these are great with sandals and jean shorts for a day activity, or pair with white jeans and heels for an evening out.
