And lovin’ every minute of it.

My high school’s colors were the best shades of blue, and this outfit makes me reminisce to those days. And makes me realize how much I loved this shade of blue.

This season, velvet is everywhere and I’m loving it!! It makes this cobalt blue even more stunning and with every angle that the light hits it, it just stuns more and more. I know, some styles in velvet scream 90’s follies. But most companies know how to do it right these days. And these shoes and bomber, prove it.

During the fall, I find it so easy to fall in a color rut; sticking with my favorite sweaters and pieces which are a collection of beige, brown and grey. So one of my objectives this season is to wear more color, be more bold, don’t be afraid to wear a pop! This outfit checks that box, and while I was nervous it would be too bold, and I wouldn’t like it… PLOT TWIST! I loved it 😀

Ankle-wrap heels are pretty popular right now too, and these are one of two pairs that I currently own. While pointy-toe pumps are beautiful in their simplicity, I don’t think all ankle-wrap shoes are a hit. I think that the colors need to compliment each other, or the fabric! These shoes are great because of the fabric and the texture, but otherwise if it was a simpler texture and all the same color I don’t think I would be as big a fan.

But I have found myself having trouble finding the right bottoms to pair with these shoes. Do you wear ankle jeans so they stop right at the ankle wrap? How about a skirt? What if the pants you want to wear lie longer than they should? Could I wrap it over the pants?

I’m sticking with the simple options, pants that fall just above the ankle wrap. I don’t think I’m bold enough to wear the wrap over the fabric of my pants. I’ve seen some style it that way on the runway, but I don’t think that will translate to real life.

I like the idea of a cute skirt with these as well! Perhaps a neutral midi dress? Hmmm… the wheels are turning!

This has also become a bit of a “[buy] this, not that”! I started coming up with this outfit with the shoes because well… duh! When I got to the jacket piece, I ran into a bit of an issue. All the options that I found were $200 or higher! Now, I know I talk about making certain investments in your closet, but a blue and velvet jacket?? That isn’t exactly the staple piece I was thinking.

The initial idea came from the matching J.Crew bomber that I saw when I bought the heels… which was $250. Then I found one at my go-to spot, Revolve, which was like $500!!! Nooooo thank you. Just as I was about to give up… I then found this gem. And when I saw that it was as affordable as it was? Well… I couldn’t check out fast enough.

I seemed to have found the perfect wall to go incognito in this outfit.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and mostly because the army green and olive color trend is in full force. And I love it! It’s a great way to keep an outfit casual, but stylish at the same time. And this camo jacket? Fits all of those requirements.

I’m sensing a trend here.

I have been doing some reviewing of my recent purchases as well as the items that I currently have in my cart and 95% of them are some shade of army green. I’m not sure if it’s the fall season or just my tastes, but I’m all about it right now.

These pants have a similar feel and fit to the ones in my ‘stun ’em in stripes’ post and can be paired with so many different pieces to fit whatever fall activity you have going on! My personal favorite right now is with a turtleneck and pumps. It gives it an extra hit of fall, but a taste of fancy with the heels. And again… these heels! You need a pair like these.

Or what about casual? I love a good graphic tee. And these look so cute with the sneakers I paired with it too. Overall it’s a great brunch or casual afternoon look, and it gives your boyfriend jeans a bit of a break! And mine needed it… they’re about worn through the fabric.

I think I’m in love

I cannot tell you how much I love these pants. I mean, I am going to try… but odds are I’m not going to do it justice.

The joggers style has had a slow incline into the market. But when they hit, they blew up! It is one of the leading bottom styles on trend right now, right up there with high waisted wide-leg pants. And everyone carries them! I have three of the same pair, in different colors, from Gap. But if you wanted something a little more decadent? You can find styles like these as well!

Part of the reason they are so popular is because of their fit. They are incredibly flattering, but also comfortable. They can be high waisted, athletic, fancy, cotton, athletic, or feminine floral! This is the greatest look for fall because of how well they pair with a denim jacket: my staple for this time of year.

What I love about these particular joggers is that they have the athletic hit in the elastic ankles as well as the femininity in the floral design. The fabric is so flirty and light as well that it works great for this time of year when it’s not quite cold yet, but not warm enough to wear shorts. The pleats and the high rise design are also really flattering! I mean.. I could go on.

The struggle I usually have with picking an outfit is figuring out how to dress up without being too dressed up. Going out to dinner and getting a little fancy without going over the top for date night. Do you ever have that dilemma? If so, these pants and their style are the answer. Joggers with a pretty sweater and heels, or a casual button-down and flats. There are so many options which is what makes these pants so amazing. And the best part? These pants are so trendy and stylish that the rest of the pieces in your outfit can be super simple! The work is already done for you!

I promise you won’t look like a referee

These pants were a risk, I’m not going to lie. Then I tried them on for the first time and oh…my.. gosh did I fall in love. Not only are they beyond comfortable but the stripes add a stylish pattern that isn’t overwhelming! I absolutely love this outfit and how fun and flirty it is. If you’re looking to impress a little special someone during a night out? This outfit will do the trick 😉

The wide-leg trend is one that I absolutely love! I have always loved this look and was just waiting for it to come back into style. Now that it has, the options are endless!

One of my favorite attributes of the trend is just how flattering it is. The high-waist + wide-leg cut of these pants accentuate a smaller waist and hide things that you might not want to be seen 😀 I am one that has larger legs and thighs… and I blame field hockey for that! But, these pants hide those trouble spots and show off the areas that I’d rather people see.

Rocking this in the summer? Try it with strappy black heels, but if it’s getting closer to the fall maybe try pointy-toe pumps! Either way, you won’t see them too much because of the cut of these pants. Which can also be a good thing if you’re like me and procrastinate on getting a pedicure :-O

This tee is also one of the cutest ones I have in my closet. It shows off just enough with high-waist pants that it is fun and flirty. But not enough that it makes me feel uncomfortable. Another reason I love the height of these pants. There’s embroidery of the word ‘babe’ on the left side that adds a hit of style and fashion that helps this tee stand out from the rest. And it’ll do the same thing for you!
