GUIDE TO MY FAVORITE DENIM SHORTS

Jean shorts have always been tough for me. Having larger hips and thighs it makes shorts a difficult fit, which is why I am so relieved that the relaxed fit and 90’s styles have come back! The 90’s styles are great because they give a little extra length and tend to be pretty soft and loose. Similar to a boyfriend pair but maybe a little more fitted.

My go-to for denim in general is A&F. Their high rise styles are great and I love that they have finally incorporated a Curve line. And, just to be clear, “curve” does not mean overweight!! Everyone’s body is different and one person’s size 6 is completely different to another person of the same size. For me, I have a small waist and wide hips/thighs, which makes traditional jeans difficult. But Abercrombie has always been a steady denim staple for me, and recently I’ve gotten back into American Eagle and Madewell’s jean shorts. Madewell has a great line of relaxed fit that aren’t torn to pieces. While every single pair of mine are torn up, some people might not want that, so this line is a great option.

But no matter what, jean shorts are my uniform in the spring/summer. Pair it with a nice blouse for a nicer brunch or a ratty tee and ball cap for errands! Gotta love their versatility. If you do have a hard time finding jean shorts you like, don’t feel bad about splurging! AGOLDE, while more expensive has some great styles and they know denim, which sometimes is more than half the battle.
