Summertime is such a fun time to get creative with cocktails! I love finding light but tasty drinks to have for a fun summer weekend on the patio, and all of these hit the mark! I partnered with Champs de Provence to bring you 10 amazing and light summer rosé cocktails, and I highly suggest making one (or several) of these THIS weekend! Many of them use overlapping ingredients so you don’t have to worry about waste!
And the best overlapping ingredient? Champs de Provence Rosé. I loved it before, but now I love it even more and how it tastes in all of these drinks. It is a classic dry rosé with notes of berries and citrus which make it the perfect summer combination! Plus it’s medium body of flavor is perfect for cocktails because it doesn’t totally overpower the other ingredients, but also doesn’t completely disappear. Plus? They look so pretty! So if you’re hosting a social distancing gathering, you can wow the crowd with your pretty cocktails. My personal favorites are the frozen ones, I don’t want to spoil anything, but popsicles never tasted so good 😀 Scroll below for the 10 recipes.
ROSÉ SANGRIA
Recipe // 2 servings
2 cherries
1/4 white peach
1/4 lime
2 oz. club soda
2 1/2 oz. vodka
1 1/2 oz. watermelon juice
5 oz. Champs de Provence rosé
2 sugar cubes
Mix the sugar cubes, lime juice, club soda to a cocktail shaker and shake until sugar dissolves. Add the remaining fruit, vodka, rosé and juice and shake until combined. Pour unstrained into your glasses.
ROSÉNADE
I absolutely love this one! Adding in the lemonade and the vodka is a great change-up and so refreshing!
Recipe // Servings 1
1 oz. vodka**
5 oz. Champs de Provence Rosé
1 oz. strawberry lemonade
1 oz. club soda
basil leaves
lemon wedge
Muddle the basil leaves and lemon wedge in a cocktail shaker, then fill the shaker with ice, add vodka wine and lemonade to stir. Pour into your glass and top off with club soda and lemon wedge for garnish
**I would suggest Absolute Citron or Ketel One Botanical flavors to enhance the kick and flavor.
ROSÉ SPRITZER
This is a nice simple rosé cocktail that gives it a little more flavor and fruitiness.
Recipe // serves 1
3 oz. Champs de Provence Rosé
1/2 oz. simple syrup
2 strawberries, halved
1 lemon wheel
splash of club soda
Mint for garnish
Muddle the strawberries and lemon wheel in a glass so the juices and flavors release. Add the syrup, wine and ice. Then top with however much club soda you like. Obviously the more you add the less fruity it will taste. Garnish with strawberry and mint.
GRAPEFRUIT FROSÉ
Recipe // serves 6
1 bottle Champs de Provence rosé
1 cup grapefruit juice
1 cup crushed ice
slices of grapefruit and mint for garnish
Pour the grapefruit juice and rosé in ice cube trays to freeze overnight. Put the rosé and grapefruit ice cubes and crushed ice in a blender. Blend until mixed thoroughly or reaches the desired consistency you’d like. If you’d prefer a less watered down taste, you can omit the ice cubes.
Add slice of grapefruit and mint to top of each serving.
ROSÉ ICE POPS
Who else feels like a kid in the summer? That feeling that you want to run through the sprinkler, get in the pool with floaties on your arms!! Well, this is a great way to feel those vibes, AND they are amazing and easy for parties. All you need are bags like these, and these are amazing because it comes with a funnel making the pour nice and clean.
These are great and easy to grab and go so if you’re having a big get together, backyard bbq, or pool party, you know it will be easy for people to grab and enjoy. I suggest getting a pretty ice bucket or (if you’re making a ton of ice pops), a small bucket and fill with ice. If you want to be really fancy make some of your own ice cubes with flower petals in them! That will really set the decór and summery mood.
RECIPE // makes about 14 popsicles
1 bottle of rosé
2 cups strawberry lemonade
1/2 cup vodka or liquor of choice
Mix all of the liquids together in a bowl or vase then using the filter pour into the popsicle bag leaving plenty of room to close! I’d leave an inch or two at least. If you don’t have empty shelves in your freezer to lay the bags flat to freeze, use a baking sheet to lay them out. Make sure they aren’t folded at all, otherwise the bags may break.
Not feeling the rosé combo? Check out these Peach Prosecco Ice Pop and Pink Lemonade Margarita Ice Pop recipes. Both sound delicious!
ROSÉSICLES
These are so dang fun! And pretty! If you’ve got a big party coming over, there is nothing prettier than a colorful and fruity setup like this one! You can get a few boxes of different popsicle flavors for people to pick from, display them on a light surface or tray and voilà! The flavor is so fruity and refreshing, PLUS it keeps your rosé nice and cold without watering it down with ice cubes. The flavors I picked are watermelon, strawberry and peach.
If you’r not into the popsicles and their sugar, you could also use frozen fruit! Just as pretty and colorful, and it won’t have any added sugar. Or if you want to get REALLY fancy, you could make your own popsicles! Just get a mold from Amazon like this one, blend up your fruits of choice, pour into the mold, and let freeze overnight. These cocktails will blow away your guests and keep y’all refreshed in the heat.
Events this would be great for: bridal showers, brunches, kid’s birthday parties (obviously this would be for the adults, but the popsicles would be for the kids :-D) the list goes on!
ELDERFLOWER ROSÉ VODKA COCKTAIL
Okay, I think this one is my favorite! I am a huge fan of St. Germain (an elderflower liqueur) and this is a great refreshing mix. I am also the kind of person whose taste for grapefruit comes and goes, so if you’d prefer something less tart, I love Belvoir’s Elderflower Rose Lemonade and think it would be a great replacement. It is sweeter, but the upside is that you don’t have a lot of it in the recipe, so you’re not adding a ton of sugar by using it. It will also bring out the lemon juice that you drop in at the end as well!
Want to get fancy? Use one of the Ketel One Botanical vodka blends. While it does have a little less alcohol, the grapefruit flavor can be a great way to bring out the flavors.
