SPARKLING PEACH MOSCATO COCKTAIL

I’m all about eating seasonally… especially when it comes to cocktails

I came across this cocktail on our honeymoon in Banff, Alberta. It sounded refreshing but I was worried that I was going to take one sip and get high from all the sugar! Thankfully, it was more refreshing than it was sweet. It turned into one of my favorite drinks, but I could rarely find it on the menu’s when we got home. I started searching for a recipe to make at home

I found a ton of recipes that had simple syrup and all of the works that would make it way too sweet for my taste buds, AND my waist line. Finally, I found one that seemed like it would do the trick! I have made my own edits and created what I think to be a pretty delectable drink.

If I do say so myself 😉

SPARKLING WHITE PEACH SANGRIA

// makes 1 pitcher //

2 to 3 peaches, sliced
3/4 cup lemon or peach vodka*
1 bottle moscato wine, such as 7 Daughters Moscato, chilled
1 liter peach seltzer water or a sparkling peach flavored drink**

*I didn’t want the peach flavored because I didn’t want it to be too sweet. I used Absolute lemon vodka to add a hit of flavor, but not to overpower and over sweeten the drink

**I used Le Croix’s peach-pear flavor. I love Le Croix because it doesn’t have any added sugar and the flavor is fairly mild compared to some flavored drinks

In a pitcher place 3/4 of the sliced peaches (saving some for garnish) and vodka and lightly muddle.

Add the Moscato and seltzer/sparkling water.

Stir with wooden spoon to mix. Pour into ice-filled glasses and top with a couple of fresh peach slices.
